Big Brother has finally introduced some new rules that are to be followed by the Big Brother Naija contestants while in the house.
A new season of 2017 Big Brother Naija kicked off today, Sunday 22nd with a new presenter – Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, new house, new Housemates and new rules which must be obeyed by the housemates from the moment they enter the House until they leave.
Take a look at the new Big Brother Naija 2017 House Rules below;
Rule 1: Housemates must respect the House and their fellow contestants at all times.
Rule 2: The Housemates will have no contact with the outside world and they are kept busy by the various tasks and challenges set by Biggie. Being in such close proximity with a house full of strangers can be tough going and Biggie has set rules that need to be followed.
Rule 3: Big Brother has complete control over everything going on in the house and Biggie never discusses anything that goes on outside of the house with anyone inside.
Rule 4: The Housemates are filmed 24/7 and they must have their microphones on at all times. The viewers must be able to hear all conversations at all times and are not allowed to whisper or cover their mouths while speaking to fellow Housemates. They are also not allowed to reveal the location of the cameras and microphones.
Rule 5: Diary Sessions are one of the most important aspects of the show’s success and are compulsory. Once a Housemate is called to the Diary Room, they must drop everything they are doing and proceed to the Diary Room. Failure to do so will result in a fine, a strike, or worse. Housemates can request to enter the Diary Room at any time of the day or night. Sunglasses and hats are not permitted in the Diary Room. The door for the Diary Room will be locked when not in use and no one is allowed into the room if it is occupied.
Important to note:
Diary Sessions and Nominations are compulsory and Housemates need to give valid reasons for nominating a fellow Housemate. Biggie reserves the right to take his time to answer any questions, but will always return with an answer. Biggie will not entertain any personal questions. What happens in the Diary Room stays in the Diary Room and Housemates cannot discuss anything that happens in the Diary Room. Exceptions to this rule are events such as Head of House Tasks.
Rule 6: Nominations are important and Housemates are not allowed to discuss the reasons for their nominations with anyone other than Big Brother. If a Housemate does so it will be interpreted as a deliberate attempt to influence others. They are not allowed to communicate via hints, signs, symbols or written notes. Housemates are not allowed to enter into any alliance or scheme to plot the downfall of fellow Housemates. Communication in the house in Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa and any other local language other than English is not permitted.
Rule 7: Housemates are not allowed to strike, intimidate, threaten or act in any way that can be construed as violent towards any fellow Housemates. This could result in immediate disqualification.
Rule 8: Housemates are not allowed to bring the following into the house:
- CDs, CD players, radios, iPod, iPad- Walkmans, DVD/Blu-Ray players, televisions- Mobile phones, Smart phones- Computers, Laptops, Notepads- Video game consoles, Computer games- Calendars- Diaries- Pen and paper or any writing materials- Eyeliner (Or any other make-up that could be used for writing.)- Alarm clocks- Watches- Any electronic equipment requiring batteries- Weapons, drugs and narcotics- Medication (except for agreed personal medication in consultation with Big Brother)- Clothes with prominent logos, clothes with fine stripes or dots, silk clothes, solid white clothes.)- Your pet cat and your children (although, you can bring pictures of your children and your cat)
Rule 10: Housemates can bring the following into the House:- Cigarettes / cigars / tobacco- Reading material, either a book or magazine.- Moisturising cream- Shaving foam, deodorant, shower lotion, pack of razor blades- Day cream, night cream and eye cream- One cleansing lotion. Cleansing tonic.- Perfume or after shave- Hairspray/ gel hair conditioner and wax- Lip balm- Musical Instrument (provided it doen’t need batteries)
Rule 11: Biggies’ word is law and all Housemates must comply with his requests at all times without fail.

Woman Mistakenly Sets Son, Seven-year-old On Fire In Imo State
Tragedy struck at Eke-Obollo, in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State after a middle-aged woman, Chinonso Azubuike, in a bid to separate two fighters, set her son, Chimaobi Azubuike, aged three, and one seven-year-old Chidalu Onyeka on fire.

Sources in the grieving community told PUNCH on Saturday that the woman had been admitted in a public hospital in Owerri, the state capital, owing to the damages done to her body by the raging fire.
The woman, who is married to one Oliver, who hails from Umuchieze – Obollo, poured a gallon of petrol on her husband and sister-in-law, Adanna Onyeka, on Friday, in an attempt to separate them
after they engaged in fisticuffs.
The sources explained further that no sooner had the woman poured the fuel than the entire house was consumed by fire, which reportedly came from a kitchen near the house, where a resident was cooking.
It was gathered that the fire killed Chimaobi and Onyeka, who were together in one of the rooms in the house.
The source said,
“All the efforts made by villagers to put out the fire in order to save the children proved abortive as they died before help could reach them.A native of the community, Collins Osuji, said the woman was also affected by the fire and had been hospitalised.
Osuji said the two adults who were fighting, also sustained burns. He said,
“The policemen, who came on a rescue mission, took the woman and others to a hospital for the injuries they sustained as a result of the fire.”The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Andrew Enwerem, said an investigation into what transpired had commenced.

Little Chinecherem and relativesThe girl, Chinecherem Irechukwu, a pupil of Unity Primary School in Inyi, a community in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu, was declared missing on December 15, 2016. The police was notified after Chinecherem did not return from school.
In the course of investigation, it was discovered that Chinedu, the younger sister of Chinecherem’s mother and her boyfriend, Chinonso Osunkwo, travelled down from Anambra State where they reside, to abduct Chinecherem from her school.
It was further learnt that Chinedu and her boyfriend took Chinecherem to Ihe-Olokoro, a town in
Umuahia, Abia State, where the little girl was sold to one Florence Nwokocha.
Florence reportedly paid N350,000 for the four-year old girl.
Following their arrest, Chinedu and her boyfriend led the police to Florence, who was equally arrested.
Chinecherem was subsequently recovered on January 16, 2017.
Amaraizu said the girl was recovered in Aba, Abia State, where she was to be resold by Florence for profit.
Narrating what transpired in the case, Amaraizu said,
“On that fateful day, December 15, 2016, Chinedu and her boyfriend, Chinonso, conspired and came in from Anambra State and headed to the school where the little Chinecherem was tricked and whisked away to Umuahia, Abia State, precisely Ihe-Olokoro, where she was allegedly sold to one Florence Nwokocha at the rate of three hundred and fifty thousand naira. “Police operatives, already armed with intelligence information, nabbed the said Florence Nwokocha, who also assisted the operatives to recover Chinecherem on 16/1/17 from a place where she was kept at Faulks Road, Aba, in Abia State, awaiting a would-be buyer with a fabulous amount of money to make huge profit.”Amaraizu added that the police were on the trail of an unnamed person, who harboured Chinecherem in Aba.
Chinecherem has been reunited with his parents.
Her mother, Mrs. Irechukwu, while thanking God and expressing appreciation to the police for the recovery of her daughter, said she was shocked that her own sister could mastermind the abduction and sale of her daughter.

Man Convicted Of 3 Murders As Teen Kills Himself In Prison
A man who broke into a classmate's home in 2007 and stabbed the teenager and his parents to death in 2007 has killed himself in prison.
Cumberland County Deputy Coroner Jeff Miller said Monday that 25-year-old Alec Kreider was found hanging in his cell Friday at the state prison in Camp Hill.
The Department of Corrections says staff members tried to revive Kreider after a guard found him unconscious in his cell. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Kreider was 16 when Kevin Haines and his parents, Thomas and Lisa Haines, were killed in Lancaster County in May 2007.
The couple's daughter, a college student, was awakened by the attacks and escaped unharmed.
Kreider pleaded guilty in June 2008 to first-degree murder and was sentenced to three consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole.
Prosecutors in Lancaster County said Kreider lived with his mother in 2007, and their home was about a 10-minute walk from the home of Kevin, his 10th-grade Manheim Township High School classmate.
Kreider was wearing dark clothing and wielding a hunting knife with a four-inch blade when he entered the victims' suburban Lancaster home through an unlocked door around 2am, prosecutors said. He attacked Kevin's parents and then the youth in their bedrooms, they said.
The couple's daughter, a Bucknell University student home that night, awoke to the sounds of a struggle in Kevin's room and rushed to her parents' room, where her mortally wounded mother told her to get help. She ran to a neighbor's home to call police.
Prosecutors read aloud excerpts from a journal Kreider wrote after the slayings expressing a 'want/need to kill people' and admitting having 'murderous thoughts.'
Told by the judge at his 2008 sentencing that the family and community deserved an explanation, Kreider replied, 'There is none.' He told the judge he had received treatment for depression and continued to take medications daily.
Kreider's father, Tim, told Lancaster newspapers in 2014 that when his son confessed, he 'never gave a motive ... only said something about Kevin annoying him lately.'

Fake Drug Peddlers Should Be Killed Not Jailed - Governor Obiano
The Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, on Monday recommended death sentence for fake drug peddlers.
Obiano made the recommendation during the presentation ceremony of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation certificate to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, South-East zonal Laboratory at Agulu, Anambra State by the United States Pharmacopeia Convention
He described the activities of fake drug peddlers as evil.
“It’s the worst criminal act to humanity. Fake drug is the worst crime anybody can commit. And praised her husband, Dr. Chike Akunyili, for encouraging his late wife to serve the country at various capacities.
He said,
“I would want to recognise the presence of the husband of the late Prof. Akunyili. Today is a day for celebration for you. Akunyili’s name is immortal. Posterity will ever be grateful to her for what she did in this agency and for the country.”

Love Scam: EFCC Arraigns Man For Conning New Zealand Woman $267,000
One Akintunde Vincent Abiodun, 37, who is reportedly a graduate of Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, was yesterday arraigned by the EFCC, before Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye of Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, on amended charge bordering on forgery and obtaining money by false pretence.
Abiodun was said to have defrauded D. Bonnici of 267,000 New Zealand Dollars by claiming to be Christopher Williams from the United Kingdom.
The complainant said she met Akintunde on a dating online platform and fell in love with him.
She said the accused started collecting money from her, claiming he was in possession of gemstones
worth $18,050,000, inherited from his father. She further said Akintunde hoodwinked her into believing that he was coming to New Zealand to settle down with her.
She alleged that the money she sent to the suspect were received in Malaysia and Nigeria by persons bearing Norisha, Jalan Klan and Mohammed Haizam Bin Fauzin, who claimed to be friends of Akintunde.
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the 14 charges read to him. Justice Ipaye dismissed the bail application, ordered the defendant remanded in Kirikiri Prison custody and adjourned to March 7 and 8 for trial.

American Rapper, Remy Ma Reveals She Suffered A Miscarriage, Might Not Be Able To Carry Own Child
American rapper, Remy Ma has revealed she suffered a miscarriage on last night's episode of Love & Hip Hop, and on her Instagram page.
Early in the episode, Remy revealed that she was indeed carrying a child and decided to surprise her husband, Papa Pap with the good news.
But that amazing high was met with a crushing low when Remy learned that not only was she losing the baby due to an ectopic pregnancy, but that she wouldn’t be able to carry any more children on her own from this point forward.
She wrote;
"First, thank you to everyone that sent their congrats as well as condolences🙏🏽 This was a hard time for me & my husband & we thought long and hard before deciding to share this part of our lives with you all.
I was totally against it but in a fit of crying @papoosepapoose said " you are not the only one going thru this , we will get thru it" ...made me realize how many women like myself experience the same thing and don't have a strong partner by their side to say it will be alright. So I'm here to tell anyone going thru a similar situation that it is not over and God has the last say so
Thank you to the staff at the hospital I was in; you all were super nice & respectful and did everything to ensure I was comfortable. And to Dr. Razmzan , who came to perform my surgery at 5am, who tried his best to leave me scarless and succeeded, who eased any fears I had- THANK YOU, & don't retire yet cuz once we find the right in vitro dr you have to deliver my babies.
